Meet The Pastor
Rev. John F. Purrington
Dr. Ward received his BA in Psychology in 1987 from Central College in Pella, Iowa and his Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling from Boston University School of Theology in 1990. Between 1991 - 2002 he studied at Georgia State University for his MS in Community Counseling and his PhD in Counseling Psychology. He later did his Doctoral Internship at the Center for Counseling and Development at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Ward and his wife, Laurie, are leading the members of St. John United Methodist Church and its surrounding community into a new adventure of growth and discipleship.
