Ruel Guerrero

Ruel is a follower and friend of Jesus who once gave up his title to obey John 15:13. He has been in ministry since graduating from Ambassador College (Pasadena, CA) in 1983, mostly pioneering and coordinating the national youth summer camp for the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) Philippines. He pastored two churches for WCG from 1994-97. Then planted a church for the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in 1997 which became the Metro South Vineyard Christian Fellowship. He became national leader of the fledgling association of Vineyard churches (Philippines) from 2003 to 2005 then continued on as a national board member until he and his family immigrated to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2009. In late 2012, he was invited to pastor Grace Communion Las Vegas (GCLV). After six months of prayer and waiting for God’s direction, he received word from God to apply for the position. He was installed as pastor of the local church in June 2013. He is happily married to Marilou (nickname “Malou”) since 1985 and have four adult children. Marilou’s experience in ministry is in prayer ministry and coordinating a feeding program for urban poor children. Their oldest son, Jether, is married and lives in the Philippines and ministers with the Vineyard. Their three younger children, Michael Joshua “Jay”, Jonathan, and Janine all live in Las Vegas. Ruel’s life verse is John 15:13. He feels that his major calling in ministry is to encourage the Body of Christ to rethink life, ministry, and church from the perspective of the New Commandment and Christ’s example on the cross. Since 2003, Ruel has touched the lives of dozens of church planters in Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, and the United States. He taught organic house church planting in Indonesia and the Philippines and currently coaches house church planters in both countries and Japan. Ruel currently works as a chaplain for the Dignity Health – Saint Rose Dominican Hospitals in addition to serving GCLV. He enjoys nature and loves to go hiking and camping with his family. He prefers to just be called by his first name, saying, “I’m just God’s servant like you. We are brothers and sisters, and Jesus is our Pastor. I’m here to love and serve you.”
