Bishop Roger McKenzie was baptized in Jesus Name and received the Holy Ghost at the age of 21 in 1988. Bishop McKenzie received Christ into his life and served on several auxiliaries such as; Deacon at age 22, vice president on planning board, fund raising and orchestrating the erecting of Greater Rescue Church of Christ new sanctuary that seats 1500 people equipped with executive office and living suites, dining facility, fellowship hall and day care facility. In May 1999, Bishop McKenzie was called to ministry. He attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, Nyack Theological Seminary and New York Theological Seminary earning a Master’s in Divinity. In May 2000, Bishop McKenzie became founder and Pastor of Greater New Covenant Church in Brooklyn, NY with seven members working independently to change lives and build relationships with God. Bishop McKenzie had been a faithful member of Bible Way Worldwide from June 2005 to present, served as a District Elder assisting with the organization, management and growth of several churches and programs for the kingdom of God. On September 1, 2012 Bishop McKenzie was installed as Pastor at Christ Community apostolic Church rebuilding the ministry from 12 people to approximately 100 in less than 3 years, baptizing 30-50 candidates in Jesus names. Bishop-McKenzie taught several leadership classes, leading to the ordination of Elders, which is a first in the 45 year history of Christ Community, along with first Ministers and Deacons and Deaconess. Christ Community has become one of the strongest churches in Westchester and within the NY Metropolitan District and Diocese that has strongly supported the work of the Lord. The holistic ministry approach and evangelistic outreach along with the powerful move of the Holy Ghost has produced rapid growth. Bishop McKenzie was called to restart his ministry after his assignments
at Christ Community was over, so in March 19, 2016 he became Pastor and founder for Abundant Life Worship Center located in Peekskill, New York. Bishop McKenzie was ordained Bishop in Raleigh North Carolina in June 2015, at the international Bibleway Holy Convocation.
Bishop McKenzie has been employed with the City of New York/Human Resources Administration from June 1993 to 2017 and has held the positions of Fraud Investigator, Associate Investigator and Administrative Staff Analyst/ Asst. Director and currently Director of Personnel. Bishop McKenzie worked at NYC Department of Finance as Director of Employee and Labor relations.
Bishop McKenzie is married to First Lady Nicola Theresa Edwards-McKenzie. They have three children: Ashley, Xavier and Alexis.
