Matt is a graduate of Towson University and Chesapeake Theological Seminary, both located in Baltimore. He first answered the call to ministry in 1989 as a youth pastor. He served as a youth pastor for the next 22 years at 5 different churches in Maryland, Tennessee, and Florida. In 2002, Matt accepted a call in Palm Beach County, Florida. In 2011, his role was expanded to the Pastor of Outreach overseeing the outreach, mercy and missions ministries. Matt is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America. As the Pastor of Outreach at a church in Palm Beach County, Matt devoted himself to learning about how to best influence the community and grow the church. For over two years of reading books and articles, listening to seminars, attending conferences, and creating a variety of outreaches he concluded that church planting was the greatest method of building a healthy church that truly transforms a community. So not only was he convinced about church planting, but he was also convinced that God has called and gifted him and Becky to become church planters themselves in Palm Beach County. This call was confirmed by the North American Missions Church Planting Assessment Center as he and Becky were approved and recommended for immediate church planting.
