We moved to Vancouver and searched endlessly for a new church we felt comfortable in. This is it! After one visit to East Woods in April 2014, we knew we had found a church we could call home. The congregation is the friendliest we have found and Pastor Bill Sperry is inspiring and intellectually challenging. His current sermon series covers present day issues in the news (e.g. slavery/human trafficking, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict) and provides Biblical insight on these topics. Using scripture, he makes the Bible relevant to today and provides serious food for thought about what God calls Christians to do. He doesn't go into public policy or legislation but does offer a Biblical lens to view the issues.
It is a small congregation with an incredibly big heart. The number of missions they undertake is impressive from local community endeavors to broader missions more typical of a church.
We willingly get up (sometimes to attend different services pending the football season) and make sure we attend. We both have gotten "involved" with this wonderful church family we are proud to call home.
