I have met many people when ask if they were to die today do they know for sure they are going to Heaven, gave me this answer " I asked Jesus to save me and was baptized at First Baptist Church" I asked a man that was dying of cancer if he knew for sure he was going to Heaven when he died, "he said sure do and he was so happy" I then asked how you know, his answer was because "I'm a deacon in three churches." Do you think he would have gone to Heaven? Salvation is more than someone telling you, "you are going to Heaven" A good start would be, 1Co 15:1  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  1Co 15:2  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  1Co 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  1Co 15:4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: How do people know their sins are forgiven, is the soulwinner acting like a priest saying your sins are forgiven, I think not the only thing that pays for the sins is the Blood of Jesus.
