This church actually found me. Over the ten years I have lived in this community, I knew several of the members, including the pastor, Tom Estes, and his wife Thelma (a teacher at Mannsville Elementary). Even tho I didn't "attend" this church, somehow I knew it was my home church. I started going in December 2012, I was baptized and became a member in April 2013.
The Estes retired in May and moved. Our new pastor, Tom Yates, his wife Denise, their daughter Amber and her daughter Eden came to us from Kansas, and they are remarkable! The preaching, the teaching, the outreaches, the role models that they are for our community have helped us all grow.
What I have found here is not just a church, but a family. There is a wonderful mixture of farmers, business owners, retirees, young people, children; and they have all welcomed me into their hearts. We have a lot of fellowship times, meals at the church (the best cooks in Johnston County), 5th Sunday Community Gospel Singing, Women's Meeting, Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade (BGMC), and suddenly, I didn't feel alone anymore. I had a family, I had fun things to do; and most important of all God is working in my life.
If you visit our church, you will find a warm welcome and people truly happy to see you. We look forward to seeing you!
