I first visited Edenton Street UMC after moving to Raleigh a few years after college. From my very first visit, I felt welcomed and wanted by the clergy and the congregation. And… it’s that warm, genuine welcome – along with repeated invitations to grow and to stretch my faith -- that have kept me coming back for more than two decades.
Edenton Street UMC Sunday morning services include a mix of Scripture, prayer, song, Communion, and thought-provoking messages. I’d suggest that blending those Sunday worship experiences with ongoing opportunities to build community and connection – everything from Sunday school classes and small groups to local missions projects and active support for community partners – is the “secret sauce” that makes Edenton Street church life both fun and engaging.
A friend in my small group says it best: “At Edenton Street, we show up for each other.” I couldn’t agree more. From births and baptisms to confirmations, weddings, milestone birthdays, or the passing of saints, our Edenton Street UMC family shows up for each other for the mountaintop moments, as well as the valley experiences.
If you are looking for a church home that is focused on a genuine love for Jesus and on sharing that love with friends and neighbors near and far, I encourage you to visit Edenton Street UMC. My hope is that – just like at the Communion table – you’ll “taste and see that it is good.”
