I debated and prayed several months concerning the content of the following review. To promote closure, I determined I had to write it. My name is Bonnie Dancer Boyd. My sister, Areatha Williams expired in April 2016. I was unhappy and I am sure Areatha would have been disappointed at the lack of support recieved from Mt. Zion Baptist of Kalamazoo, Mich. church family. God used Peter as a demonstration of how he wanted his church to be patterned. Matthew 16:18--And i say also unto thee,That thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. He also referrs to Peter again in John 21:17--He saith unto him the third time, Simon , son of Jonah, lovest thou me ? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things;thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. I understand my sister was not a lead sheep but she was a sheep which the shepard should have been aware of her needs. John 10:14-- I am the good shepard, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. Death is something which cannot be planned around activities of life. I understand some activities were planned for the church during the time of her death. Matthew 18:12 How think ye ? if a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray ? The times offered for the funeral were Friday and Saturday. We appreciate the offers but a conversation with the family would indicated the following : 1) Friday-- speaking with the family would indicate attendants of the funeral would be elderly first cousins who live in distant states.
