Pastor Shane is my younger brother, so I may be a bit biased. That doesn't mean I am wrong in my assessment though. Shane is a man who cares about God deeply and maintains the most sober view of his calling as a pastor. He truly loves his congregation and works tirelessly on their behalf. In addition to the care that he shows for his flock, Shane is a truly gifted student of the Bible. As an undergraduate he was one of the few Gentile students to graduate with a certificate in Judaic studies. His knowledge of the Old Testament allows him to draw parallels between the Old and New Testaments that few people can readily grasp, and his experience as a former soldier and in prison ministry helps him to explain in the simplest of ways. Conversely, although I have not had the opportunity to attend his church personally, I can tell from the outreach ministry they perform to the community that Trinity Lutheran is truly alive in Christ and is an exceptional example of the body of Christ. This is a truly blessed faith community.
