A humanist community for humanity’s future. Being Human Church is a humanist church helping us to Be Better so humanity can Survive and Thrive. Our church provides a novel trio of features: a supportive community, a clear purpose, and a consistent philosophy. While other churches have two, none that we found had all three. So, we started a church we could believe in. Survive and Thrive Our Goal: Humanity survives the threats of today and thrives in the infinite future. Be Better Our Mission: Be Better as individuals, communities, and a species to survive and thrive. Tenets: - We welcome anyone in our church who wants to Be Better and help humanity Survive and Thrive. - We build community deliberately on individual respect. We are better together. - We engage in our mission to Be Better without dogma or mysticism. - We examine our existence through science and skepticism. Doubt is our foundation. - We pursue learning and advancement while letting go of being “right.” - We focus on the infinite game over the finite one. Being Human Church is a humanist community with a mission to improve the world around us and foster a resilient, productive, educated, and a skeptical citizenry connected to their community – so humanity can survive and thrive. Guidelines - Reasoned arguments only. Be prepared to back up arguments with vigorous research and data. - No name calling or putting down other organizations or belief systems. We gain no allies in our ultimate objective through insults. - Share. Engage in the community. Learn something new. We can only be better together.
