Back in 1999 on Christmas eve, I was in Gainesville to be with my daughter who was so sick she could not come home. I stayed a few days until she was well enough to go home for the holidays. I wanted to worship the Lord while there and went out to search for a Methodist church to attend. I found one on Newberry Rd and I will tell you I found the RIGHT church. I have never been more welcome than this great little congregation was. I felt right at home and we worshiped the Lord. To top it off we ended up signing hymns in the parking lot, so my car was part of our service. I thought that was the neatest thing ever. I love my church here in Tarpon Springs, the First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs that the Lord led me to when I moved here in 2003, but I will always have in my heart that night I fellowshiped with the people at Grace. I keep the church bulletin to this very day. I don't know what it is like today almost 18 years later. But if it is anything like that night, that would be my church home if I lived in Gainesville.
