A pastor with motive and an agenda could find verses in the Bible to support any number of positions that they may have by taking those verses out of context. This church felt cultish. The focus was not on doing the will of God, so much as on persuading people to give away all of their wealth and possessions. Their was a reading from a children's book in which a fish gives away all of it's scales until it had none left so that the other fish would like it more and be it's friends. I do not believe that it is right to imply that God wishes for us to buy friends. I believe that the Bible also teaches that those who labor should benefit from their efforts and should take care of their families.
