Fantastic, Bible based, friendly - plus – totally oriented to accommodate the handicapped.

In the process of looking for a new Christian, Bible based church I accidently stumbled upon Bible Baptist Church in National City, CA.
I have only been there twice but both times the preaching, message, and invitation for salvation were all spot on.
I have also never met and been greeted by a friendlier group of people. As soon as I exited my car I was not only welcomed by everyone I saw but a young lady (I was to find out she was only 12 years old) took me under her wing, leading me to the sanctuary all the while introducing me to the people we passed.
A GIANT plus, for me, during the worship part of the service all the songs were sung from the old hymnals. Those old songs tell a story, one we all need to hear, unlike the choruses you hear in so many other churches. One of the songs we sang was “The Old Rugged Cross.”
I am handicapped and wear a brace on my right leg. When sitting it is more comfortable if I am able to prop my leg up. To increase the difficulty of finding me comfortable seating, where I’m not in the way, is my 100 lb. service dog. The ushers at Bible Baptist Church have been well taught to accommodate ALL handicapped people, make you feel like you are doing them a favor for being there rather than “a bothersome person needing ‘special handicapped seating.’”
This being said, rather than the avoidance I have received at other churches once they see the size of my service dog it was the total opposite at Bible Baptist Church. It makes me smile as I write this part. After being seated many young people came and asked to pet my service dog (Sarii). Sarii loves people, willing to flop over on her back for tummy rubs every chance she gets. She, getting all this attention was thrilled. As I watched my special dog getting so much loving, with not one single person afraid of her, truly warmed my heart.
Bible Baptist Church truly goes the extra mile when it comes to people with handicaps. The last row in the center isle all have special sleeves on their backs indicating they are for handicapped only. Added to that, something I have never seen before, behind these special handicapped seats is more than sufficient room for those who sit there to park their walkers!!!
On a scale of zero to 100% I give Bible Baptist Church 125% for all the extras they do to make the handicapped feel welcome.
I plan to continue to attend Bible Baptist Church, and God willing, eventually become a member.
