My family and I have attended First Southern since 2001 when I was born again. We left for a little while and returned at a time of desperate need. They received us back with loving arms even though I had left in self righteousness. The love of Christ in this fellowship is apparent. It is an honor to have had our children grow up within the body and build lasting relationship with godly people and good kids. We've been in transition over the last 2 years with a new leadership staff and it has been a really exciting process to witness! When our pastor of 14 years announced that he was retiring, it initiated a most amazing display of the leadership of core believers of our fellowship. Where a lot of churches dissolve at the loss of a pastor, this body grew in strength and purity as Christ guided the process for our fellowship to minister to a new generation. Changes are happening! At times it can be a bit uncomfortable for a family that has "liked it the way it was", however the Spirit testifies that these changes are His doing and for His glory as He seeks to bring our community to know Him. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful work of Jesus in our midst.
