The Mesa Mountain View Stake (see Isaiah 54:2) is like a Mega church or a diocese with about 3,000 members in our geographic area and then it is separated into 8 smaller geographic congregations called wards. This means you have a lot of resources, programs, physical and spiritual support and activities that you can get involved with.
In the smaller congregations you get to know people individually and develop strong friendships. What's nice about this church is that you get to be personally involved in your congregation because there is no paid clergy, so everyone has the opportunity to volunteer, offer service, pray, speak from the pulpit, minister and donate your time and talents. You can do as little or as much as you desire. Generally, if you attend a ward church service you will be greeted at the door. Depending upon the size of the ward congregation, people may not know that you are a visitor but you're welcome to sit wherever you like and there's no need for you to do anything other than sing along with the hymns if you desire.
We don't ask for donations at church and there is never a collection plate passed around. In our church we feel it's important to approach God with reverence and respect. Most women wear dresses, most men wear shirt and tie or a suit. We try to offer God our best when we worship.
There are separate organizations for small children (Primary), teenagers (Young Men and Young Women), Young Single Adults (YSA-18 to 33), Older Single Adults (SA-34 to 45), women, and men.
We have about 65 full-time and part-time missionaries serving around the world. Generally young men and women aged 18 to 21 years of age and senior couples have opportunities to serve missions either locally or in other parts of the world.
All we ask of people is to come and see! The rest is up to you and God.
