I attended this church myself During this time! That the other review from the Joe guy is referring to. We where stationed here for while.
To give exact information that I heard and saw myself.
The young boy didn’t live with them.
He was a very troubled young man they where helping him as did all the young people. This particular boy did stay some on the weekends along with several of the young people.
The pastor had never been alone with him. He keeps accountability where he doesn’t put himself in any situation where he’s ever alone with anyone but his own family. He always has more than one with him at all times so nothing can ever be said.
The young boy had told at least 3 people that all he had to do was make a accusation and he could destroy the church and the pastor.
That he had done it at a church in Florida and had it shut down.
The family had lived in 3 different states in 8 years. The dad had 3 social security cards.
They sent all 3 kids to different churches and when the churches no longer help them. They would threaten to make accusation.
One church in Florida was shut down because of the same accusations.
He wanted to live with the pastor but couldn’t because he had parents and no reason to live with the pastor. So when the pastor ended adopted another young man the young became very jealous and angry. That’s when he began to talk about all he had to do was make up a accusation. He told at least 3 leaders before hand all he had to do was make up something.
Then he did. Family service then got involved.
Investigation was done with every kid that had been around the pastor. They Found nothing.
In fact the head of family services said from their investigation and private investigation of the church, that they had one of the greatest things going for young people they had seen. Over 28 young guys who had traveled with the pastor in the summers over a few years to youth camps came in from all over to testify on his behalf. The prosecution lawyer for the hearing asked to settle out of court when they seen all the character witnesses there to testify. But the pastor refused to because of such a drastic accusation he didn’t want to leave any room for doubt. So he went on with hearing to prove his innocence.
The young man and his mom was caught in several lies. On the stand. Along with the sherif that took the boy’s statement was caught in several discrepancies.
Then the 28 young men began to testify. They made it through 2 or 3 and the judge said he heard enough. Case was closed. The pastor was found innocent of all accusation. A letter from the pastors lawyer! A letter from the judge. A letter from family services stating their findings as innocence was all given.
The dad even called the church 3 months later confessing that it was all lies. And made his apologies.
It’s so said churches have to go through these kind of things. That people would post what they hear and not follow up to find the truth. Or people get offended and try to bash the church and pastors.
The church is very open about this situation and doesn’t mind explaining. That’s how we all know the details. They wanted everything to be above board. I love this church it was very special to us when I needed it most and my family needed at the time we where stationed there. I would recommend this church 100%!
