Beyond "Church"
When I first met Shaman Jack 'Golden Feather,' I knew I had just met a person of whom I could ask all my questions about life. I had, by that time, studied comparative religions, taken refuge in the Buddhist tradition, been certified as a Reiki Master Teacher, received the Ozasuke Healing Grant from Tenrikyo University, and been a counselor and marriage officiate in the State of Hawaii for nearly a decade. I could read palms, erect astrological charts and carry my own end of a conversation on almost any subject having to do with life and even death. But Jack had actually lived through the life-after-death experience. In 1976, following a single-vehicle motorcycle accident, he had been pronounced DOA at the hospital emergency ward, remained clinically "dead" for close to 3 hours until -- after experiencing 155 healthful years "on the other side," he resurrected back into his physical body just as a hospital orderly was zipping him up in a body bag. Fourteen years after the two of us met, we discovered New Haven Native American Church and established Muaisa Hale with a third Board member, getting authorized to conduct our affairs in the State of Hawaii. I cannot say enough positive about the work we do via Muaisa Hale Pule to assist people in achieving personal growth and healing via their own Inner Divine.
